Chaos as only 20 people per day were served while hundreds wait outside

PASSOP has had a large impact on the debate around the situation of documented and undocumented immigrants in South Africa. In the past, PASSOP has identified and exposed corruption within the Home Affairs Department’s Refugee Reception Centres, which helped to pressure a reform that greatly improved the system and led to a ten-fold increase in the numbers of asylum seekers being served each day (in the Western Cape office up from around 20 to 200 each day).
