2. Volunteer/Intern
The office-based NGO portion of PASSOP takes on volunteers and interns on an ongoing basis. Volunteers and interns form the bedrock of the office by completing research, writing proposals, compiling data, crafting media content, and implementing projects. In the past, PASSOP volunteers have combined refugee-related research projects and other school projects with office internships. Volunteers generally work for one to two days a week and attend PASSOP protests and other events. Interns work anywhere from three days a week to full-time. Because they spend more time in the office and in the field, interns are better positioned to engage with the refugee crisis and therefore are entrusted with more responsibility.
